To promote the implementation of bicycle trails in Aurora according to the Aurora Bike Plan.
To study and recommend future improvements to the Aurora Bike Plan.
To lobby public and private groups to adopt and implement the Aurora Bike Plan.
To rally Aurora citizens and groups to promote the Aurora Bike Plan.
To advise Aurora City Government on ways to make bicycle trails in Aurora safer and friendlier for all citizens.
To introduce citizens to the existing and planned Aurora bicycle trail system.
Club meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the 4th Floor Eagle Room, Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Pkwy -- Aurora, CO 80012. All bicycle riders and enthusiasts are welcome. Call 303-699-9260 for more information.
June 15th – Cherry Creek Regional Trail – 8:30am – 16 miles (Dala)
Explore the Trail south towards Franktown. Meet at the trailhead, 16400 East Broncos Parkway, West of South Parker Road, adjacent to Tagawa Gardens.
June 29th – Farmer’s Market – 9am – 20 miles (Linda)
Enjoy an easy ride to Cherry Creek and take a break to enjoy the Farmer’s Market.
July 13th –– Geocache - 9am – 12 miles (Max & Jenn)
Learn the art and science of geocache hunting along Aurora bicycle trails. A GPS receiver is not required.
July 27th - Highline Canal – 9am – 16 miles (Jay)
Travel through the new Chambers Road underpass along the scenic High Line Canal.
August 10 – Cherry Creek State Park – 9am - 20 miles (Linda)
Ride around the lake and south to the start of Piney Creek Trail.
August 24th – Sulphur Gulch – 9am – 25 miles (Gary)
Meet north of Target and east of Panera Bread in the parking lot of the CornerStar Shopping Center - SW corner of Arapahoe Rd and Parker Rd.
Sept. 7 – Sand Creek Trail "Fat Tire" Ride – 9am- 25 miles (George)
Meet at the Aurora History Museum
Sept 21 – Fairmont Cemetery history ride – 9am - 12 miles (Tom & Carol)
Learn about some famous characters buried there. Meet at the Aurora History Museum
Oct. 5 – REI Flagship store at Confluence Park – 9am - 36 miles (Jay)
Unless noted above, meet at Treads Bicycle Outfitters, 16701 East Iliff Ave, just West of Buckley Road. Ride pace is family oriented, helmets are required, dress for the weather, and remember to bring water, sunblock, etc.
